About
In 1982, Jacki Headley and Graham Hutton had a dream of creating a store that would showcase local artists and exemplify the town they loved so much. Today, that store houses almost 400 different artists and vendors with more added every year.
Made in Chico can be found in the historic Nottelmann Building; where the original floors, ceilings and walls portray a sense of warmth and history. There are still bare bones from the saddle and harness store built in this location in the early 20th century along with many scars from Parker Hardware. Each store has made its mark on this building and we are delighted to do the same.
Want to sell something at Made in Chico?
Made in Chico is predominantly a consignment store, we see potential consignees by appointment only (generally on Wednesday afternoons). Please feel free to call at any time to arrange an appointment with our manager.
Several factors we look at when deciding on whether to accept consignee’s products:
Does the product suit the ‘look’ of the store?
Does it reflect the unique qualities that make Chico so special?
Is this item something our customers would be interested in purchasing?
Can it be sold at a retail price acceptable to our customers?
Is this similar to a product we already have?
Is it made in Chico/Chico area?
We are always looking for talented consignees with a passion for Chico and the arts. If you believe you and your products would match our needs we would love to hear from you. Note: we do not take on new consignees in November & December.
